Move Over iPhone...Here Comes Prada!

Prada has partnered with LG and developed a phone for fashionistas! The Saffiano leather casing incorporates what Prada is known for, their handbags. It runs on Android's Gingerbread operating system, with an optional upgrade to Ice Cream Sandwich (are these names for real?!), and will cost you about $780. Currently only available in South Korea, but I have no doubt it will be making a U.S. appearance in the future. Will you add this your fashion accessories?

Style Me Chic: New Years Eve

Reader Amy will be attending a small gathering of friends to ring in the New Year. The location is a friend's swanky loft with hors d'oeuvres and drinks. She wants something chic, without it being too fancy since they won't be going out on the town and her style icon is Olivia Palermo. Here are a couple of looks I put together for her.

Wishlist/Wedding Wednesday

We just finished registering and I would have loved to register for the entire Nambe line, however, that wouldn't have been as beneficial as what we did register for. Here is a combo of things we did pick out and some that are simply on our wishlist...

Christian Louboutin for Men

And a hush fell over the crowd of fashion-forward males. It's true - Christian Louboutin will be opening a men's store in the Meatpacking district of NYC this spring! Lucky for my fiance, we are heading up there for our engagement photo shoot mid-May, and will certainly be stopping in. As you may have guessed, prices are just as high for the menswear line; expect to see tags ranging from $1295-$2295. One extra perk the store will offer is the Tattoo Parlour, where men can customize their shoes to reflect their own ink.

Holiday Traditions

I am taking some time off of work for the holidays and plan to relax and bake!!! I love baking, and as a child we always did plenty of it over the holidays. Not to mention that when school is in session I don't have the luxury of extra time. Here are a few things I'll be preparing...

Breakfast tacos (my family's holiday brunch)

Monkey Bread (my family's holiday brunch)

Mini caprese (my fiance's family holiday celebration)

Dr. Pepper Chocolate Cake (my fiance's birthday)

Homemade twix (recipe from Cupcakes and Cashmere)

Bedroom Re-design

We are getting ready to do a re-haul on our master bed/bath. We already completed painting our master bedroom (cream, with a dark red accent wall) and now it's time for the next steps. We have been looking for a new comforter/bed sheet set, but with me being so picky, and my fiancé not sharing my love for animal print, it's been difficult. That all changed when I saw an article in the January Instyle magazine. We will be using this sheet set and this luxe faux fur blanket, both from Restoration Hardware, to emulate this look. I die over this picture and can't wait to see it everyday in my room!!

Next up - California closets! We're not technically using that brand name, but everyone knows what they are so it's just easier to describe. The set we will be using is Ikea's PAX system. You can design your own closet on their website; here is what I have put together for my side of the closet:

Finally, we are having our master bathroom painted. When we bought the house, both rooms were a moss green. Not an ugly color, it just didn't fit us. After many battles, we finally chose Metallic Black Cherry. Once it's complete we will be on the hunt for new towels and rugs to complete the look.

Wedding Wednesday: Will You Be My Bridesmaid?

I finished making my "will you be my bridesmaid" invites awhile back, but couldn't post until after I had asked them all, since they are avid readers. I got this idea from Pinterest, and hoped they hadn't seen the pin before, but it was just too cute not to do anyway! Without further ado...

Trend: Exposed Zippers

While finishing up my Christmas shopping over the weekend I came across tons of tops and dresses with exposed back zippers. From tshirts to sweaters to dresses, the trend was everywhere! I picked up a long sleeve top at Zara (unavailable online) and here are a few others I saw. What do you think of this trend? I think it's a fun way to spice up an otherwise basic piece of clothing.

The Virgin Mary - Fashion Icon

During this time of year, it's important to remember what we are celebrating. That being said - have you ever heard the Virgin Mary referred to as a fashion icon?! Currently there is an exhibit open in France, at Lyon's Fabric Museum, which features her elaborate clothing; much more extravagent than what is depicted in historical pictures/paintings. History states that brides would donate their gowns to be used to make dresses for the Virgin Mary. Fancy, fancy!
