Men's Fashion: Wing Tip Shoes

Fashion has always been cyclical, and the latest trend to make the rounds again are wing tip shoes. What do you think about these being back in style? Will you rock them - or if you're a lady, will you suggest them to your man?

Wedding Wednesday: Sand Ceremony

Since we will be married on a cliff (outside), we won't be able to do the traditional unity candle ceremony. Therefore, we will be doing a sand ceremony, which is similar, but I think even more meaningful. It's a great visual, and something we can display in our home, that shows how our lives were joined together on our wedding day and can never be separated again.

Baby Shower Gifts

Now that I've attended my last baby shower of the season, I can share with you some fun gifts I've given. I typically give something from the registry, and something that is more personal and fitting from me. My all time favorite gift, regardless of the sex of the baby, is this book. It's full of classic nursery rhymes, with a twist that incorporates fashion, and one that I can see myself reading over and over again. The artwork in the book is also spectacular.

There are so many adorable onesies out there right now, and this is one I chose for all my friends that were having girls.

And what baby doesn't need some cute socks to keep him/her warm?

Fashion Star: Week 10

While I think Kara has a great eye for fashion forward pieces, I think her style is just too edgy for a collection that fits in all three stores. I was really shocked that she won the entire competition. Here are a couple pieces I did like in her collection. But don't you think that they all have such a similar feel? I just don't think her collection is diverse enough.

Saks, $325

H&M Romper, $39.95

I absolutely loved (and would have ran out and bought) the jumpers that Ronnie designed for H&M. I also thought the cut of the suit that Nzimoro made for Saks was on point; so chic! Alas, they did not win, however, I truly believe that Ronnie will have no problem getting picked up in stores as he moves forward in his career.

Today is a peek of chic's one year anniversary! Thanks to all my loyal readers who have made this such a successful hobby for me. And a special thanks to EH who encouraged me to begin this, when I thought I was too busy with grad school xoxo.

Benefit: They're Real!

Another win for Benefit Cosmetics - I am loving their mascara "they're real!" For the last two months I've been using Latisse (review to come) so I can't comment on the length this mascara may or may not provide. However, what I love, and what I've not been able to find in any other mascara I've used, is the way that it separates your lashes. It's unreal (hah!), but seriously, the brush is very unique and there isn't an opportunity to clump at all. Another benefit - they also sell a smaller size ($10) so you can see if it works for you. I wish more cosmetics companies would do that! The only downfall is that it doesn't dry very quickly, which means I have to wait a lot longer to curl my lashes. (Am I the only one who curls after applying mascara??)
