2014 Color of the Year: Radiant Orchid
Pantone has announced the color of the year for 2014 - orchid! Purple is one of my least favorite colors, especially the lighter shades. That being said, here are some options to work into your wardrobe for the coming year.

Nordstrom Rack Downtown

Firmoo Glasses
Only a few people know that I don't have a vision problem, but that doesn't stop me from wearing glasses. About 6 years ago I bought a pair of Kate Spade frames, with glass in place of prescription lenses. I figure I shouldn't have to miss out on a trend just because I am lucky enough to have perfect eye sight!
When Firmoo contacted me about reviewing a pair of their glasses, I jumped at the chance! I had been wanting a second pair of frames, but couldn't justify spending the money on another designer pair when I didn't actually need them. Usually I need to try them on to determine which ones will look best on my face, but their virtual try-on system was extremely helpful. I went through several hipster styles and decided on these, because they weren't too trendy that I could still wear them in my conservative workplace.
Firmoo has tons of frames to choose from, whether you're looking for something fashionable or classic, but best of all - their first pair free program. That's right - pick whatever pair you want and just pay shipping (this includes prescription lenses!). With a deal like that, why not pick up a new pair?!

Shades of Yellow
One of my resolutions this year is to add more color to my wardrobe, starting with yellow. When I had blond hair (awful college phase), I never wore yellow because I didn't like (and still don't) the combo together. Now that I'm brunette, I really want to add that pop of color!

Baroque n' Roll
I am loving the baroque trend I've been seeing in all the mags, and once again, it's another reminder that I like gold! It's the perfect print for winter, and I can't wait to snag something with this great print. I particularly like the pants by Seven for all Mankind below. DC locals...I can't help but think about Josephine's when I see this print...what about you?
