Mr + Mrs

Our wedding photos are finally in, and I couldn't be more pleased!! Sun Gold Photography did an amazing job - I can't say enough great things about them!

Vera Wang

After coming back from our honeymoon, it was a nice to see that my wedding gown designer had won a lifetime achievement award! Her work truly is amazing and I just stared in awe at my dress once I had it on. The detailing and never ending layers of organza, it was simply breathtaking! The fact that every piece is hand cut, blows my mind. In a world where everything is made my machines, I love that my gown was made by hand. While our photos are not back from our main photographer yet, my sister's husband captured some great images!

Wedding Wednesday: Stationary

One of my favorite things is beautiful stationary. I'm anxiously awaiting my wedding, so that I can buy new monogrammed notecards! Until then, here are the some of the pieces I will be using for the wedding.

Wedding Wednesday: Invitations

Now that our invitations have been sent out, I wanted to share them all with you! I had so much fun creating these with Lopaze Creations. To go along with our destination theme, I wanted something that tied in, and boarding passes was perfect! It's hard to tell from the photos, but the paper is a pearlized cream color.

Wedding Wednesday: Engagement Photos

We were lucky enough to have two photo shoots, one in NYC (where he proposed) and one in DC (our home town). I loved that they were both so different - candid and posed. Here are some of my faves that we now have framed in a wall gallery...

Wedding Wednesday: Sand Ceremony

Since we will be married on a cliff (outside), we won't be able to do the traditional unity candle ceremony. Therefore, we will be doing a sand ceremony, which is similar, but I think even more meaningful. It's a great visual, and something we can display in our home, that shows how our lives were joined together on our wedding day and can never be separated again.

Wedding Wednesday: My Dress

I've been to 8 different stores and tried on what seems like every gown in the city. Like most brides, I thought I wanted one style, but once I tried it on, it just didn't work. I finally decided on the silhouette that was "me" and this past weekend I went on another shopping trip, which was much more productive. Once I tried this gown on, I simply didn't want to take it off! I just kept staring, and walking around the salon and towards the mirror and it was just perfect!! Since I don't want to share a photo of the exact gown...I'll leave you with this. 374 DAYS!!!!!

Wedding Wednesday: Save the Dates

Since we won't be having a formal ceremony in a church, I thought it would be fun to get in the spirit of our destination wedding with our save the dates. I found these postcards on Zazzle that allow you to customize the back with all the necessary wedding information. They were so easy and affordable, I couldn't pass them up!

Wedding Wednesday: Engagement Party

A couple weeks ago my bridesmaids threw me the most fabulous engagement party ever!! The theme was NYC (since that's where we got engaged) and it couldn't have been executed better. There were so many little details, they really did a phenomenal job. I couldn't have asked for a better way to celebrate our engagement and am so lucky for such creative friends!

central park: hot dogs, pretzels and fruit fondue, and manhattan map napkins!

chinatown: wontons, eggrolls, dumplings

meatpacking district: strip steak, meatballs

little italy: tortellini and pesto, goat cheese and sausage dip

times square: cheesecake and bagels

upper east side: serendipity's frozen hot chocolate

soho: fruit, veggies, cake bites

Wedding Wednesday: Will You Be My Bridesmaid?

I finished making my "will you be my bridesmaid" invites awhile back, but couldn't post until after I had asked them all, since they are avid readers. I got this idea from Pinterest, and hoped they hadn't seen the pin before, but it was just too cute not to do anyway! Without further ado...

Wedding Wednesday: Venue

Since I will now be posting about my wedding, I figure I'd switch up Wishlist Wednesday with Wedding Wednesday every now and then. First up is nailing down our date. My fiance (love saying that!) and I are currently both in grad school, so we are waiting until after graduation so that we are able to fully enjoy everything. Therefore we won't be saying our vows until at least May 2013. Unfortunately since that is so far away, the resort we want, Rockhouse Hotel in Jamaica, has not yet begun booking dates. Apparently it is very difficult to get in as well, since 1. they only hold weddings in their off season and 2. they only hold one wedding per week. So today begins my quest in stalking the wedding coordinator to ensure she remembers come March, that I want in!!! Here are a few photos of the amazing resort...
