2014 Color of the Year: Radiant Orchid
Pantone has announced the color of the year for 2014 - orchid! Purple is one of my least favorite colors, especially the lighter shades. That being said, here are some options to work into your wardrobe for the coming year.

Marchesa + Revlon
Marchesa has teamed up with Revlon for a collection of 3D jewel nail art. Inspired by their Spring 2013 line, there will be 8 different designs. At just $10 for 18 strips, I think they are a fun change! Find them at your local drugstore this October.

Eight & Bob
In honor of the 50th anniversary of JFK's passing, his fragrance is now available for purchase, exclusively at Bergdorfs and Neimans. The back story is quite intriguing. While in France during his college years, JFK linked up with a Frenchman, Albert Fouquet, a perfume-maker. The sample he brought back to the States was a hit and he requested Fouquet send him eight more samples, plus one for his brother (Bob). When JFK received the samples, they were labeled "Eight & Bob."
When World War II began, the perfume maker hid the bottles inside books that he cut by hand, so that the Nazis wouldn't seize it. As a way to pay homage to the heritage of the brand, the current packaging is similar to how it was hidden all those years ago. Want to read more? Check out the full story here.

Musings Around the Internet
As if I weren't already a Mac-convert...
Society has us under the impression that a model's career is over by her early 20s. Jennie Rhodes, 81, is putting a stop to that stereotype. She was just signed with Vielma to be the face of their new campaign. Love, love, love this!
Elsie (my dog) is a girl, but because she is a beagle/jack russell, she doesn't look very girly. Even though she has a pink collar and leash, people still come up to her and assume she is a boy. I've thought about how this may be an issue if we have a baby girl, and she doesn't have hair early on. Insert baby bangs. They seriously think of everything, don't they?!

Roll Your Stress Away
Whenever I get stressed at work, I have a vile of aromatherapy oil that I take out, close my eyes, breathe in deeply and imagine I'm at a spa. As silly as it may sound, it seriously works. Now it seems I should have patented this idea and came up with a witty name, because that's the basis of this product. The directions state that you roll a bit on each palm, cup your hands over your face and inhale. I highly recommend to any and all who have stress in their lives!

Wedding Wednesday
The sense of smell is so powerful. There was a specific lotion I used on a trip to Hawaii, and anytime I use that same brand, I'm reminded of my time there. Same thing with perfumes...Ralph Lauren Romance spells college days, Cool Water was my first love, Coco Mademoiselle - memories of good times with an old friend. For my wedding day, I want a new scent that will make a new memory. Did you wear a new perfume for your big day? What is your favorite perfume?

Dolce & Gabbana: Baby Perfume
The fashion house has developed a unisex perfume for babies that is supposed to enhance the 'baby smell,' with notes of citrus, honey and melon. Stefano Gabbana describes the inspiration as "the softness of baby skin, the freshness of baby breath, a mother’s sweet hug, the first smile." Granted I'm not a mother yet, so I can't comment on if this is actually a good idea, but D&G seems to think so!
