Trend Report: Crop Tops
While celebs have been baring their mid-drifts for awhile now, crop tops have finally shown up on the scene in stores. The style that those in Hollywood can pull off are not quite something I think DC is ready for (or even me personally) but I do think I could happily work with Devon Rachel's look. Classy and on trend - perfect! What do you think of crop tops? Will they fit in your wardrobe this summer? The black lace one is growing on me...

Wishlist Wednesday

Low-Cal Summer Cocktails
In an effort to drink responsibly (read: healthy), a girlfriend and I have mixed vodka and Crystal Light for years. Recently I noticed they caught on to our concoction and created mocktails. So this past weekend we tried out the Pomtini. I have to say, it didn't taste much different than the other fruity flavors we've used before...perhaps the margarita flavor will stand out a little more. Either way - I highly suggest! Have you tried any of the mocktail flavors?

Floppy Hats
I love hats during all seasons, but summer especially. I've discussed my love of fedoras previously, but this post is focused is on floppy hats. As I've gotten older, I've been working hard to keep the wrinkles at bay. That being said, I still love the beach. So in order to make both work, hats are essential. This summer when I hit the islands, I want to make sure I have the perfect topper.

Beach Bags
I just booked a cruise to the Caribbean and am in need of a new beach bag! As usual, I'm very picky and am having a hard time finding one I love. During my [continued] search, I came across some of these great totes. The "Hamptons" one comes in other cities as well, such as Malibu and Miami. A fun way to display your favorite beach!

Kate Spade Swim
Kate Spade continues to grow her empire, now adding swimwear to the mix, by partnering with designer Malia Mills. The styles are conservative and there are few prints to choose from, however, I anticipate this collection to grow each year.

Summer Wrapup
At the beginning of summer I posted a list of things I wanted to accomplish...
- Go to a winery I've never been to before. Done - Fabbioli Cellars to celebrate a friend's birthday
- Attend a food festival. Fail
- See fireworks. We saw them unexpectedly, as we were going to sleep on the night of 4th of July, from our bedroom window. It was perfect!
- Go to the beach. We had a beach wedding in SC, so I got one day on the beach!!
- Take a walk after dinner with the bf and dog, at least once a week. We didn't manage every week, but we did get out more than usual
- Successfully grow my own tomatoes. Fail. The heat was ridiculous here this summer - but my cucumbers have begun to sprout!
- Go to an outdoor concert. Yep - The Band Perry & Tim McGraw
- Rent bikes in DC and ride along the Potomac. Very sad to say fail. But this fall is a great time for this as well!
- Paint our master bathroom. We decided to pay someone to do this, however, we painted 2 other bathrooms so I wouldn't consider this a fail!
- Go to a drive-in movie theatre. I'll put this on the list for next year...
