Louis Vuitton: Speedy Retrospective
Last week I had the pleasure of attending the Speedy Retrospective event at Galleria's LV. Beginning with a cocktail dubbed the "Sweet Speedy" the store had been outfitted with all the famous Speedys throughout the years.
What was most interesting though, was the on-site technician demonstrating the process of assembling the handles. The middle is sewn through a machine, however, the ends are pulled through by hand. Each technician is trained in only one type of strap, so the person working on Speedys would not be the same as those making straps for the Artsys.
Perhaps the most enjoyable part of the evening were the photos! Everyone grabbed sunnies, scarves and bags to pose with for a keepsake photo.

Weekend in Photos
(clockwise from top left)
1. Anniversary flowers (peonies) 2. Anniversary gift (4 years) 3. New fence 4. Master bath accents
I am so excited that after 3 years of living in our home, we finally got a fence installed!!! Our dog is ecstatic that she gets to run around the yard and I'm happy that I don't have to worry where she is. And one day, I won't worry (as much) when little kiddies go out to play...

OOTD: Shopping on Newbury
The weather in Boston last weekend was incredible!! Coming from DC, where the temps were averaging at 100, I was happy to find some cool breezes. We were able to eat most meals on patios (great for people/style watching!) and spent all day Saturday shopping on Newbury Street.
What I'm wearing:
Brandy Melville slouchy top, Citizens of Humanity cutoffs (similar style here), Steve Madden flats, Urban Outfitters fedora, LV handbag, Michael Kors Layton watch, Marc by Marc Jacobs leather bracelet

Smurfette in Couture?!
I bet you never thought you’d see Smurfette wearing couture, huh? I found these photos in the June issue of Harper’s Bazaar and thought they were too fun not to share! If only she was really rocking these outfits in the movie, I might think about snagging a ticket!

Strapped In and Ready To Go
Louis Vuitton recently introduced the Speedy Bandoulière to their collection, which is essentially the Speedy with a strap. In my opinion it looks like a mini version of the Keepall bag, which essentially, it is. Moreso, it just looks awkward. The bag itself is too large to work as a cross body bag, even at the 25 size. What do you think?

Happy Summer, Happy Cheryl!
It's summer, and that means time for a new purse! I've been lusting after this Louis Vuitton since last summer and decided to treat myself. We aren't going on vacation this year (due to the 6 weddings we are attending), so I needed something to brighten up my summer!
I have the Speedy 25 in the original monogram and loved the style. However, it is slightly too small for everything I need to pack in. So, this time I upgraded to the Speedy 30 which is much roomier.

J’adore Louis Vuitton
2011 marks the 20th anniversary since Louis Vuitton entered China. As part of the celebration, an exhibition entitled “Voyages” will be on display at the National Museum of China in Bejing from May 29th to August 30th. I wonder how much flights are to China?! The exhibit will focus on LV’s “historical association with travel” featuring luggage from past to present. Insiders say rare bags will also be on display. Here's hoping for lots of photos to be posted!

Wishlist Wednesday
It doesn’t matter if you’re traveling for a quick getaway weekend in NYC, or a long vaca in St. Tropez, you always need a good carry-on! Since college I have used the (annoyingly ugly) Vera Bradley duffel bag. It was a great size that carried everything I needed. Along with my (now) serious dislike for the vibrant pattern, the bag is also fabric, which means it can soak up any sort of liquid – from rain to a spilled soda. Needless to say, the bag has taken a toll over the years.
Which brings me to what I need (yes, need) now:
Not only is it fabulous because it’s LV, but it’s also timeless. This will be a piece I will use forever. Additionally, the bag is canvas, which makes it easy to clean and the shoulder strap will be useful when trekking through airports. Hopefully I will be carrying this on my next trip...
