In honor of the 50th anniversary of JFK's passing, his fragrance is now available for purchase, exclusively at Bergdorfs and Neimans. The back story is quite intriguing. While in France during his college years, JFK linked up with a Frenchman, Albert Fouquet, a perfume-maker. The sample he brought back to the States was a hit and he requested Fouquet send him eight more samples, plus one for his brother (Bob). When JFK received the samples, they were labeled "Eight & Bob."
When World War II began, the perfume maker hid the bottles inside books that he cut by hand, so that the Nazis wouldn't seize it. As a way to pay homage to the heritage of the brand, the current packaging is similar to how it was hidden all those years ago. Want to read more? Check out the full story here.

Gatsby Fashion
In anticipation for The Great Gatsby opening in theatres next week, Brooks Brothers has paid homage to the iconic film. The store windows in Chevy Chase were stunning, but unfortunately the photos I snapped included too much of the reflection.
The store has an entire collection dedicated to the debonaire style of Mr. Gatsby and his colleagues. There's only one word to describe it: sharp!

Birchbox for Men
I recently purchased a gift membership to Birchbox as a birthday gift for a friend and I noticed they now have products for men! I highly recommend this as a gift, since it's a monthly program, and the recipient will continue to get gifts each month (options include a 3, 6 or 12 month subscription). I don't know about you, but shopping for guys is always challenging for me, so when I saw this, I knew it would be perfect for some of the men in my life. With brands such as American Crew, Kiehls, The Art of Shaving and Billy Jealousy, you really can't go wrong!

Men's Fashion: Ben Minkoff
One of my favorite accessories designers, Rebecca Minkoff, also has a men's line, Ben Minkoff. Still a rather small line, just being introduced in Spring 2011, the pieces are inspired by Rebecca's grandfather's military background. Here are some of my favorite pieces...

Men's Fashion: Wing Tip Shoes
Fashion has always been cyclical, and the latest trend to make the rounds again are wing tip shoes. What do you think about these being back in style? Will you rock them - or if you're a lady, will you suggest them to your man?

Men's Fashion: Funky Socks
I find nothing sexier than seeing a well-dressed man in a suit. But what makes it even better, is when you catch a glimpse of his socks when he sits down. I love seeing men pairing funky socks with an otherwise conservative suit! Here are a few of my particular favorites...

Men's Fashion: Double Windsor Knot
By far, my favorite look for a tie is the double windsor (also called full windsor). However, I've found that this can apparently be a challenging tie and some men don't know how to execute. Below is a great visual for learning how to "do" a double windsor and a corresponding photo of how it should look.

Christian Louboutin for Men
And a hush fell over the crowd of fashion-forward males. It's true - Christian Louboutin will be opening a men's store in the Meatpacking district of NYC this spring! Lucky for my fiance, we are heading up there for our engagement photo shoot mid-May, and will certainly be stopping in. As you may have guessed, prices are just as high for the menswear line; expect to see tags ranging from $1295-$2295. One extra perk the store will offer is the Tattoo Parlour, where men can customize their shoes to reflect their own ink.

Men's Fashion Inspiration
While browsing Pinterest, I decided to look through men's apparel. As fashion-forward as [I think] I am, I've never been as good at pairing men's outfits together. I can pick out things I like, but not put them together as fashionably as I see in these photos...

Brown vs. Black + Gray Suit
When I first decided to write about this topic, I was 100% against men wearing brown shoes with gray suits. In my opinion, gray is a light shade of black, and should therefore be worn with black shoes. However, half way through my research, I discovered that several well-dressed men I know wear this color combo.
As I searched for advice on the web regarding men’s fashion, the overwhelming majority of articles also agreed that brown can be paired with gray. I began observing men’s shoes everywhere I went! It appeared that the guys rocking the brown and gray were some of the more fashion forward ones.
So, here I am to actually promote the act of pairing brown and gray. There is one caveat, if you are wearing a dark gray suit, for the love, please wear black shoes!

Trend: Fedoras
Fedoras are another hot summer accessory that shouldn’t be overlooked. What’s great is that both guys and girls can rock this look! For warmer months, it’s best to buy one that is made of straw or linen, so that you won’t overheat.
How you position the hat on your head is another important aspect. Ensure that it sits level and snug, you don’t want to look like Charlie Chaplin with a hat positioned on top of your head. Let's also talk about tilting. A slight tilt to the left or right is fine. However, please do not tilt it down so that it covers your face. We’re not hip hop artists here, we’re fashionistas!
There are a lot of different cuts of fedoras, so be sure to try it on first to confirm a good look. Check out what celebs are wearing this trend, and which brands I suggest.
