Holiday Happiness
One of my favorite things about the holidays is NYC. Absolutely everything from the horse drawn carriage rides around Central Park in the snow (hot chocolate in hand!), to the ice skating rink at Rockefeller Center, to the fabulous window displays at the department stores, screams Christmas to me! Sadly we did not visit this season, but at least I can live through this montage...

2013 Color of the Year: Emerald
Pantone has announced their 2013 color of the year, emerald! Looking around our home, we have zero green incorporated in it, and I am loving this shade. Will you add more green to your wardrobe and/or home in the coming year?

Lacquerous: The Netflix of Nail Polish
If you're a polished-obsessed gal like me, you know that there are several brands that are seriously pricey! From an $18 bottle of Nars to a $30 Tom Ford lacquer, building your collection can add up. Not to worry, Lacquerous is here. A luxury nail polish rental program, much like Netflix, you join for $18 a month and receive 3 polishes of your choice to use at a time. They have all the high end brands including Chanel, Dolce and Gabbana, and Dior to name a few.

Style Me Chic: Black Tie Charity Event
Ann will be attending a black tie charity event in the coming weeks and is unsure what to wear. Since it is after work, she is wondering if it would be appropriate to wear a short dress and dress it up with jewelry/accessories/shoes. She isn't against wearing a long gown, she simply doesn't have anything in her closet and will need something quick.
My recommendation was that if she already has a short dress in her closet, it's absolutely ok to wear that and dress it up, since it is on a week night. However, if she prefers to wear a long gown, Rent the Runway is a great go-to when you're in a time crunch.

Holiday Wish List #1
To help my friends and family with ideas for me, I've always put together a wish list. Some things are reasonable, and some things are more wishful thinking. I also figure my wish list can double as a gift guide for your fashionable friends, who may be Hokies as well!

Neiman Marcus + Target Buys
These are some of the goodies I grabbed at the Neiman Marcus + Target collaboration this past weekend. Did you stop by and check out the selection? What did you think? I'm still crushing on this Faux Fur Vest by Skaist-Taylor...and trying to justify the purchase!
Pomp + Circumstance
Today marks the last day of my graduate school career! Now that I have my MS and MBA, I am looking forward to evenings and weekends that do not include reading and research. If only I could get that idea of a PhD out of my head...
