Elizabeth Olsen
Elizabeth (Lizzie) Olsen, younger sister of MK and Ashley, is finally hitting the fashion scene. Olsen's alliterative film, Martha Marcy May Marlene, debuted late 2011 and she has been seen on many a red carpet since the premiere. I love her look and can't wait to continue to see her! What do you think?

Fashion Watch: The Oscars
Highlights from last nights festivities includes gold gowns and buns! There were so many gowns I loved, not shown include Judy Greer. Hits and misses as follows, for the "Super Bowl" for fashionistas!
Best Dressed:
Best Dressed:
Stacy Keibler in Marchesa. She looked like an Oscar statue herself! |
Emma Stone in Giambattista Valli. I typically don't like red heads in red, but she looks amaze! |
Michelle Williams in Louis Vuitton. Stunning, rocking the peplum trend |
Cameron Diaz in Gucci. I love the detailing at the bottom |
Maya Rudolph in Johanna Johnson. A surprise favorite; I love the shoulder and belt detail |
Octavia Spencer in Tadashi Shoji. She really knows how to wear gowns that flatter her body type, A+ |
Worst Dressed:
Glenn Close in Zac Posen. Women is blazers are not welcome on the red carpet. |
Sandra Bullock in Marchesa. I normally love this designer, but the drop waist looks terrible |
Tina Fey in Caroline Herrera. Just awful! |

Master Bathroom Update
So we finally got our bathroom painted (after 3 different times of the painters coming over!). I couldn't be more pleased with how it turned out and these photos don't nearly do the amazing color justice.

Beauty Review: Benefit Watt's Up!
After reading many beauty blogs over the last year, and seeing a blogger's beauty routine here, I decided I needed to add a highlighter to my makeup repertoire. I had used a friend's highlighter and liked the results, but I had completely forgotten about it to tell you the truth.
Here is the line up of products I tried out. The first one I tried was the High Beam, since this is what Julia uses and she always looks so fabulous! It didn't work with my skin tone, so I went on to try Moon Beam (too shimmery) and Sun Beam (too bronzy). Honestly, I also really didn't like the liquid application method. I like to use brushes and tools to apply my makeup and keep my hands fairly clean. Next, I tried That Gal. Although it's billed as a primer, it can be used a highlighter. I had similar complaints with having to use my hands to apply and it was for a much lighter skin tone than my own. Finally, I tried Watt's Up. I loved the application of simply gliding it along my cheek bones, and then using the sponge applicator on bottom to blend it in. It's a perfect champagne color and looks great when the light reflects it. It's also not too shimmery, which I wanted to ensure I steered clear of.
If you're in the market for a highlighter, I'd definitely check out Benefit's extensive line. It's reasonably priced and there are a lot of options for all skin tones!
Disclosure: I was not compensated by Benefit for this post, I simply enjoy their product line and wanted to share with my readers.

Wedding Wednesday: Engagement Party
A couple weeks ago my bridesmaids threw me the most fabulous engagement party ever!! The theme was NYC (since that's where we got engaged) and it couldn't have been executed better. There were so many little details, they really did a phenomenal job. I couldn't have asked for a better way to celebrate our engagement and am so lucky for such creative friends!
central park: hot dogs, pretzels and fruit fondue, and manhattan map napkins! |
chinatown: wontons, eggrolls, dumplings |
meatpacking district: strip steak, meatballs |
little italy: tortellini and pesto, goat cheese and sausage dip |
times square: cheesecake and bagels |
upper east side: serendipity's frozen hot chocolate |
soho: fruit, veggies, cake bites |

Spring Pastels
I've never been a big pastel girl - a little too girly for my likes - but they are all over for this spring; I'm not sure I can hide from it for much longer! What do you think? Are you a fan of these easter-egg like colors?

Rachel Zoe+Tiffany & Co.
It even rhymes - how perfect! As a tribute to the Oscars, fashion goddess, Rachel Zoe has collaborated with Tiffany's to design their windows for their flagship stores in NYC, Beverly Hills, Hong Kong, Toyko, Singapore and London. Her theme included old Hollywood glam throughout the decades. While the photos are gorgeous, I can't even imagine how major they look in person!

Gym Fashion
Now that I'm a full-fledged gym member again (haven't been since right after college, since everywhere I lived had a gym in the complex), I'm beginning to notice the serious lack of put togethered-ness at the gym. Perhaps I'm being too prissy, but they do manufacture clothes specifically made for working out for a reason. While I suppose right after college I wore my sorority and college tshirts to work out, as I've gotten older I've retired those and actually wear workout gear. So I'll give the recent college grads a break, but did everyone miss the memo? I'm partial to Nike, while my fiance always tries to get me into Under Amour. Here are some great pieces for your next work out! Click any image for more information or click HERE for the shoes.
